Constantin Wild - ‘The Value of Colours’ goes digital

May 2016

Constantin Wild’s book ‘The Value of Colours – Wild About Gems’ is available as of now in digital form. This visually impressive work full of expert knowledge on many aspects of the world’s most precious coloured gemstones can now be read free in his blog.

In some 180 pages, Constantin Wild whisks his readers away into the glittering world of coloured gemstones. The gemstone merchant, who runs the family enterprise that bears his name, representing the fourth generation of that family in doing so, opens the doors of his treasure chamber and presents some really special items – in both pictures and words. He tells of his experiences and travels to many parts of the world in his search for its most beautiful, rarest and most valuable stones. The work is rounded off by stories and illustrations about his family, his home town of Idar-Oberstein and the noble art of gemstone cutting.

‘The Value of Colours’ is a very personal book: all the way through it you feel that the author is someone who knows what he’s talking about. And loves doing what he does. Someone who is, literally, wild about gems. The qualified gemmologist is keen to share his knowledge of and passion for coloured gemstones – and that is why he’s now making the book available free in his blog. “I’d like to give a worldwide audience the opportunity to read my book and see the fascination in the most magnificent coloured gemstones of this world for themselves. I’d be very pleased if it helped to spread the word about coloured gemstones and thus enabled even more people to appreciate the value of colours – in the true sense of the phrase”, says Constantin Wild.
