Gianni De Liguoro is a boundless creative artist. He was trained as a tailor, the area of activity in which his family has been working for two generations. At the beginning of the 60s, he decided to start the production of gadgets for the expanding market together with his wife Angela. This is how the famous Calimero plastic puppets were born, distributed togheter with Miralanza, laundry detergents, followed by a series of funny Mickey Mouse-shaped pins produced for Perugina and, in 1971, the “talisman” necklaces for Ramazzotti designed by Mario Moletti, painter and illustrator.

Starting from that moment De Liguoro’s jewelry creation has been unstoppable and got wide recognition in the main editorials of the 70s . Finally in 1980 he was noticed, by Clara Centinaro, the pioneer of Made-in-Italy products, who created outfits for a number of princesses and first ladies worldwide and who introduced him into the world of high fashion and fashion shows.

Since then De Liguoro has worked with some of the most refined and elegant Made-in-Italy brands including Alberta Ferretti, Fausto Sarli, Rocco Barocco, Renato Balestra, Enzo Russo and Trussardi. The beautiful De Liguoro’s artworks on display are embellished with Swarovski ® crystals. The cooperation with the famous company founded in Wattens has been lasting since the 80s.

Following his extrovert and visionary creativity, he has created jewels for high-fashion- wedding jewelry as well as special production for the jet set and some entertainment primetime shows for Rai, Italian TV channel. In the 80s he worked for Miss Italy contest, creating the most beautiful crowns of all time worn by the queens taking part in the show.

The materials used by De Liguoro represent an exercise of continuous experimentation, where beauty is also created by using a leather ribbon “stolen” from the old sewing machines, raw hemp, mirrors, french jet bohemian black cameos or a very thin aluminum plate. Everything is harmonized with a special attention to details in order to obtain an extraordinary aesthetic and formal perfection.
