Arusha International Gem, Jewelry & Minerals Fair To Be Held In Tanzania, April 26-29, 2012

February 2012

The Ministry of Energy and Minerals (MEM) of Tanzania and the Tanzania Mineral Dealers Association (TAMIDA) will hold the Arusha International Gem, Jewelry and Minerals Fair (AIGJMF) at the Mount Meru Hotel in Arusha, Tanzania, April 26-29, 2012.

The four-day event will bring together premier gemstone and mineral dealers from thirteen Sub-Saharan African countries in one forum, along with industry speakers, lapidary demonstrations, and round-table discussions.

The fair will provide buyers the opportunity to trade at the source, at preferred pricing, with special dispensation for export that does not exist at other times of the year. The participating countries will also be able to share resources and knowledge, in order to build a value-add infrastructure that brings more direct benefit back to their countries, which they could otherwise not sustain as a single entity.

In addition to gemstones, Arusha is the hub for many tourist destinations including beautiful national parks, cultural excursions, and easy access by plane to picturesque beaches on the Indian Ocean. Most notably, April serves as the migration season in the Serengeti, so those who choose to take in a safari will be seeing Tanzania’s parks at their best. The AIGJMF event is good for business, and is a welcoming destination for the whole family.
