International Jewellery Design Excellence Award 2013: Final call

The Hong Kong International Jewellery Show reminds you that the closing date for entries for its 2013 International Jewellery Design Excellence Awards (IJDE Awards) is 28 Nobember 2012.

To honour creative and outstanding jewellery designers from all over the world, the International Jewellery Design Excellence Award (IJDE ) Award provides a platform for international jewellery designers to exchange experience and compete for the highest honour— “Champion of the Champions”. In 2011, this biennial event attracted 109 champions of world’s leading jewellery design competitions from 21 countries and regions.

Jewellery designers who have won the championship of jewellery design competitions whose result was officially announced between 21 November 2010 and 20 November 2012 are eligible for participation. All entries must be human-wearable and contain precious metal or stone comprising gold, platinum, silver, diamond, pearl, gemstone or semi-gemstone.

The winner of the biennial International Jewellery Design Excellence (IJDE) Award’s “Champion of the Champions”2011 was Russian designer Ilgiz Fazulzyanov

Judging Criteria include Innovation, Craftsmanship, Aesthetics, Wearability and Functionability.

The first round judging will be held in December 2012. Eight finalists will be selected for the final judging and four winners of Merit awards will be confirmed. The result of the first round judging will be notified to the contestants in December 2012 by individual notice/email. Final judging will take place in Hong Kong during the period of the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show 2013 in March 2013.

Prizes include Champion of the Champions Award (1), Aesthetic Award (1), Craftsmanship Award (1), Innovative and Uniqueness in Design Award (1), Distinction Awards (4) and Merit Awards (4).

The winning designs will be publicised worldwide:

  • Winning pieces will be featured and showcased at the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show 2013, the fastest growing show in Asia of its kind that attracted over 30,000 international trade buyers each year.
  • Booklets and CD-ROMs will be distributed at the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show, jewellery trade fairs, jewellery trade associations and media around the world.
  • Coverage in Organiser’s and Co-organisers’ publications.
